Thermochromic prints on card, postcard display, heated screen

Initially, these postcards appear black and opaque. But when touched or brought near a heat source, an image reveals itself. These are satellite views of islands that are destined to vanish in the coming centuries due to rising sea levels, as scientists predict. In the absence of heat, these postcards will gradually revert to their original state. The back of the card displays the names of the islands, their geographical coordinates, and the century in which they are expected to disappear. The postmark suggests that they were sent from a distant future.
